November 12, 2008
Although the fishing season is over with the exception of the catch & release section, there have not been many people taking advantage of the nice days. The few that have have managed to catch a few nice fish. There is no surface activity and most of the fish taken have been on streamers and weighted nymphs. Salmon fishing on the rivers was not good again this fall as was the case last year. A foot of snow a couple weeks ago did not help much and we will proba get more soon. All I can tell you is you will still find nice days ahead when you can get out for a couple hours and enjoy the catch & release section.
I was excited and honored to be inducted into the Catskill Fly Fishing Hall of Fame last month and it was especially nice to see so many of the old friends at the induction. I am taking advantage of the slow time now to put the finishing touches on my autobiography and hope to have it finished by Christmas.
